Changing Lanes: A Gender Equity Transportation Study

Cityfi supported in the creation of Changing Lanes: A Gender Equity Transportation Study, which uses a lens of intersectionality to envision gender-equitable transportation systems and policies that support accessible, efficient, flexible and affordable mobility solutions for Angelenos of all genders. In turn, a gender-inclusive transportation system in Los Angeles also creates opportunities for economic development, drives progress on racial justice, and contributes to overall health and wellness.

In cities all over the world, the unique needs, preferences and travel experiences of women have not been sufficiently incorporated into the design and operations of transportation systems. The lack of gender inclusivity and representation leads to inequitable transportation outcomes and experiences that most negatively affect low-income and racially marginalized women.
