Bob Specht

Bob Specht is a technologist and community advocate, well-versed in the early stages of transformational companies and the impact technology can bring to cities. Prior to joining Cityfi, Bob’s recent work focused on leading companies in product development and strategy across urban-based sectors – including smart cities, real estate, IoT, civic engagement and more.

Bob made his way to Washington, DC through his hometown of Kansas City. In Kansas City, Bob led product for Think Big Partners, a leading startup incubator / investor – where he also contributed in the development of Kansas City’s Smart City efforts. Bob was part of the founding team at Homebase, a venture-backed smart apartment platform.

In advocacy roles, Bob worked with Mayor Sly James of Kansas City, MO to study policy for digital divide solutions. He recieved the Richard Nadeau Award from Historic Kansas City for his working leading the successful Save Kemper Arena campaign.
