Cityfi played a pivotal role with the city to allow innovation on public and private space, instead of shying away from setting vs. following the trends. It explored a concept for a P3 “mobility wallet” for end-user customers that would provide unlimited access to some modes and limited amounts of rideshare, carshare etc. Ultimately, the goal was to deliver a solution that allowed Forest City to reclaim parking space in existing developments and to build significantly less parking in future developments, while giving customers many more mobility options. The work was data-based on trends in urban vehicular ownership, the growth of transportation network companies and active transportation, as well as the likely arrival of fully autonomous vehicles in the next decade.
The parking and curbside strategy was completed and implemented in 90 days, resulting in significant bottomline impacts and improved service for customers, while lowering requirements for parking in future developments.
