Cityfi facilitated the creation of the Pittsburgh Mobility Collective (PMC), a public-private partnership between a consortium of private companies and the City of Pittsburgh to launch Move PGH, an innovative Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) transportation service offering anchored by mobility hubs. This will provide Pittsburgh residents and visitors with connected, affordable, and convenient transportation services accessible by a single app.
Move PGH is a first-in-the-country project that will leverage partnerships to create an integrated mobility experience between the public and private sector. It aims to create a transportation system that is simple & affordable, growth-oriented, equitable, sustainable, inclusive and innovative.
Method
Cityfi participated in initial visioning and project planning, and helped outline the framework of the PMC. With the support of the New Urban Mobility Alliance, Cityfi’s efforts have focused on overall project management and partnership approaches between the PMC and the City, and between PMC members. Cityfi has also advised on equity and infrastructure fund design and strategy, and mobility hub implementation strategy and tactical urbanism.
In terms of partnerships, Cityfi facilitated cross-sector collaboration and developed the core working groups pertaining to data analysis, MaaS product design, parking and curbside, and marketing to advance the PMC’s mobility efforts.
Move PGH launched its first stage of services in July 2021.
